My go to spot treatment: boots tea tree and witch hazel night treatment gel

A couple of weeks ago my skin had the worst breakout its ever had. None of my usual tricks worked, and I woke up every morning with more and more spots. It drained my spirits and although I know it didn’t bother any one else, crushed my confidence. I was desperate to find something to get rid of it.

I had used the Boots tea tree and witch hazel range before and it had always worked well for me. when I was browsing the range, I saw the night treatment gel and thought I might as well try it. what did I have to lose, other than a few pounds?

That night, after washing my face, I used my usual toner, and eye cream, then applied the gel all over my cheeks. I took this opportunity to also apply a hydrating night mask to my forehead. The treatment felt like a regular gel moisturiser and sunk into my skin straight away, which was nice. I then didn’t have to worry about getting anything on my pillow when I went to bed. It did sting a little bit at first, but my skin was so sore that that didn’t really surprise me.

When I awoke the next morning, my skin was definitely not perfect, but there was an improvement. My skin was a lot smoother and less sore, and there weren’t nearly as many spots as before. A pleasant surprise was that my skin wasn’t really dry in the morning. I expected my skin to be dry and flaky, but it wasn’t. It was dry to the touch, but you could tell that my skin was still hydrated. It also didn’t hurt when I washed my face that morning. I did notice that my skin still got spotty throughout the day, but having clear skin in the morning was a great start.

I continued to use this nightly for about 4 days. The acne I had dried down and disappeared, and new spots just didn’t come. A miracle. I’ve not had a bad breakout since then. I don’t use this every night, But I do crack it out when I can see a few little spots on my face during the day. It never fails me.

I’ll definitely be repurchasing this when I run out, though that will be a while looking at the size of the bottle. It comes in a 75ml bottle, and only costs £3.29, which is amazing considering how much it’s helped me.

I hope this little review has been easy and interesting to read. Let me know if you’ve used any of this range, and what you spot treatment secrets are.

Until next time,
